A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Murvin S. Enders.
Whereas, Murvin S. Enders has played an influential role
in the development of the state of Indiana, the city of
Indianapolis, and his community;
Whereas, Murvin S. Enders served as executive director for
100 Black Men of Indianapolis from 2005 until 2012 and as
president of the organization from 1997 until 2004;
Whereas, Murvin E. Enders was Vice President of Human
Resources for the Indianapolis Water Company from 1998 to
2003 and Vice President of Administrative Affairs for IWC
Resources Corporation from 1995 to 1998;
Whereas, Murvin S. Enders had a long and distinguished
career with the Chrysler Corporation, where he served in
various leadership capacities;
Whereas, Murvin S. Enders has served on more than 30 boards in the Central Indiana area, including the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee (GIPC), the Indianapolis Airport Authority Board, the University of Indianapolis, the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Indianapolis, the Christian Theological Seminary, the Ruth Lilly Health Education Center, the United Way of Central Indiana, the American Red Cross of Indianapolis, the Goodwill Industries Foundation, and the Methodist Hospital Foundation, and served as board president of the Greater Indianapolis Foreign Trade Zone Board;
Whereas, Murvin S. Enders has a BA from Fisk University and an MBA from the University of Indianapolis;
Whereas, Murvin S. Enders is married to Linda and has
three sons, Murvin III, Kevin, and Erik and seven
grandchildren;
Whereas, Murvin S. Enders has received numerous awards
over the years, including the Fisk University Outstanding
Alumni Award for Community Service (1991), the United
Way Diversity Advocate Award (2011), the Indiana Black
Expo Reverend Charles Williams "Putting Your Faith on the
Line Award" (2011), and the Urban League Family of the
Year (1993) award, and was inducted into the University of
Indianapolis' Sankofa Circle of Civic Leaders (2012);
Whereas, Murvin S. Enders also serves as an Elder at the
Light of the World Christian Church; and
Whereas, Murvin S. Enders has dedicated his life to the
betterment of his state, his city, and his community:
Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly expresses its
deepest gratitude to Murvin S. Enders for his years of dedicated service
to Indiana and the city of Indianapolis.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Murvin S. Enders.
