HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION

        A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the Bedford North Lawrence girls basketball team.

    Whereas, The Bedford North Lawrence girls basketball team defeated the Fort Wayne South Side Archers, 54-51, in a closely contested Class 4A girls basketball championship game to secure the state championship in the team's fifth appearance in a state title game;

    Whereas, The 28 - 0 Bedford North Lawrence Lady Stars completed a perfect season to secure their third state title;

    Whereas, In a game with five ties and 12 lead changes, the Bedford North Lawrence girls took the lead for the final time with a three-point shot from the corner with 1:20 remaining;

    Whereas, Sophomores Alexa Bailey and Dominique McBryde led the Stars with 19 points each, and Jenna Allen pulled in 11 rebounds;

    Whereas, Carli Fields was named the Class 4A Girls Basketball Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award winner by the Indiana High School Athletic Association Executive Committee;

    Whereas, Carli Fields, who achieved an SAT score over 1500 this year, is an active member of her youth group at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Bedford, is a cadet teacher at a local middle school assisting teachers and students, and was a key reserve player for the Stars' run to the state

championship game this year; and

    Whereas, Outstanding accomplishments such as these deserve special recognition: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates the Bedford North Lawrence girls basketball team on the Class 4A state championship and wishes the members continued success in their future endeavors.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to the members of the Bedford North Lawrence girls basketball team, Head Coach Kurt Godlevske, Principal Roger Dean, and Superintendent Dr. Dennis D. Turner.
