A HOUSE RESOLUTION urging the Legislative Council
to assign to the Criminal Code Evaluation Commission the
topic of increased penalties for battery committed against a law
enforcement officer.
Whereas, Battery committed against a law enforcement
officer while the officer is engaged in the execution of the
officer's official duties may warrant harsher penalties; and
Whereas, The issue of battery committed against a person
summoned and directed by a law enforcement officer
warranting harsher penalties should also be considered by the
Criminal Code Evaluation Commission: Therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives urges the Legislative Council to assign to the Criminal Code Evaluation Commission the topic of increased penalties for battery committed against a law enforcement officer.
