    A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing Marisa Kwiatkowski.

    Whereas, Marisa Kwiatkowski was awarded the Sigma Delta Chi public service award for her work as an investigative reporter;

    Whereas, The Society of Professional Journalists awards the Sigma Delta Chi Public Service Award to journalists who have exhibited courage and initiative in overcoming opposition, enterprise, and integrity;

    Whereas, Kwiatkowski, an investigative journalist for The Times of Northwest Indiana, was selected to receive the award in the 50,000 to 100,000 daily circulation category;

    Whereas, Kwiatkowski's reporting has won her the accolades of various professional organizations, including the Indiana Judicial Conference; and

    Whereas, The efforts of Marisa Kwiatkowski have helped raise public awareness of serious issues facing our state and have facilitated important changes: Therefore,
    

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives congratulates Marisa Kwiatkowski as the recipient of the Sigma Delta Chi Public Service Award and urges her to continue her investigative journalism.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to the Marisa Kwiatkowski and Times Executive Editor, William Nangle.
