    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION memorializing Staff Sergeant Justin M. DeCrow.

    Whereas, Staff Sergeant Justin M. DeCrow's life was tragically taken on November 5, 2009, during an attack on the Fort Hood Army Post;

    Whereas, DeCrow spent his childhood in Plymouth, Indiana and married his high school sweetheart, Marikay, just before joining the Army;

    Whereas, DeCrow was first assigned to Fort Gordon where he became a satellite communications instructor. He was known for his sense of humor and ability to make people smile;

    Whereas, His former students recall DeCrow ordering them to yell "Here I am, rock you like a hurricane" during roll call;

    Whereas, After his stay at Fort Gordon, DeCrow took his technical and computer skills abroad. He was stationed in Korea for a year;

    Whereas, DeCrow returned from Korea and was stationed at Fort Hood while he awaited his deployment to Iraq;

    Whereas, On the day of the attack, DeCrow was on post training soldiers on how to assist new veterans;

    Whereas, According to his childhood friends, DeCrow never lost his friendly demeanor and always saw the good in people; and

    Whereas, Staff Sgt. Justin DeCrow was a soldier who served our country with pride. According to his wife, "he was a loving father and husband and he will be missed by all": Therefore,
                
                

Be it resolved by the Senate     of the General Assembly

of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives     concurring:

    SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly memorializes Staff Sergeant Justin M. DeCrow.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Staff Sgt. Justin Decrow's wife, Marikay, and daughter, Kylah.
