SENATE RESOLUTION


     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION urging the Legislative Council to assign to the Child Custody and Support Advisory Committee, or another appropriate committee, the study of various Department of Child Services matters.

    Whereas, The safety of Hoosier children is paramount. It is important to study the effectiveness of the Department of Child Services as it relates to the protection of our state's most vulnerable children; and

    Whereas, In order to determine the effectiveness of the Department of Child Services, it is important to study the relationship between the Department, IARCCA, and the providers with whom they work. In addition, consideration should be given to the efficiency of the ombudsman program: Therefore,

    

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate urges the Legislative Council to assign to the Child Custody and Support Advisory Committee, or

another committee, the study of the above topics, and any additional Department of Child Services matters as deemed appropriate.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Legislative Council through the Executive Director of the Legislative Services Agency.
