SENATE RESOLUTION


     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Terri Johnson for her admirable work as the executive director of the Northern Indiana Community Foundation.

    Whereas, Terri Johnson is stepping down as the executive director of the Northern Indiana Community Foundation (NICF) after faithfully serving in that position since September 1, 2002;

    Whereas, Terri Johnson has been an outstanding director for NICF. Over the years, her work has altered the lives of many by connecting donors to areas most in need of funding. One of her greatest feats was doubling the Community Foundation assets from $11 million to $22 million;
    
    
    Whereas, Terri remains committed to her community . She served as board member and president of Fulton Economic Development Corporation, remains active at Grace United Methodist Church, and is a member of the coordinating council of IMPACT! . Her work within her community led to the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation Distinguished Alumni Award in 2012;

    Whereas, After earning a bachelor's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, Terri went on to earn a certification in

fundraising management from Indiana University School of Philanthropy;

    Whereas, Terri's passion for community assistance will continue as she transitions into her new position as the associate director of the GIFT Technical Assistance Program for the Indiana Grantmakers Alliance, where she will design and implement development programs for Indiana community foundations; and

    Whereas, As Terri Johnson moves on to the next phase of her career, she leaves NICF with large shoes to fill. U nder her direction and passion the Community Foundation has bloomed into a one of a kind and highly respected community organization. We wish her luck as she moves on to the Indiana Grantmakers Alliance: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:



    SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate recognizes Terri Johnson for her work at the Northern Indiana Community Foundation.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Terri Johnson.
