A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring John Williams upon his
retirement from the Social Security Administration (SSA) in
Anderson, Indiana where he was the Public Affairs Specialist
for East-Central Indiana.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring John Williams upon
his retirement from the Social Security Administration (SSA)
in Anderson, Indiana where he was the Public Affairs Specialist
for East-Central Indiana.
Whereas, On February 11, 2012, John Williams retired
from the SSA after 38 years of public service;
Whereas, Williams spent all of his career stationed at the
Anderson Social Security office providing community outreach
and public education to residents of Madison County and
surrounding communities;
Whereas, Beginning in 1984, Williams served as Social
Security's Public Affairs Specialist for East-Central Indiana
working in 25 counties serviced by the Anderson, Columbus,
Kokomo, Marion, Muncie, and Richmond Social Security
districts;
Whereas, Williams gave several community presentations and participated in numerous volunteer activities sponsored by community organizations that provide social and advocacy services to senior citizens and people who have disabilities;
Whereas, During his career, Williams received several Regional SSA and area community awards recognizing his ongoing efforts to provide high quality Social Security outreach and public education to residents of East-Central Indiana; and
Whereas, Williams consistently served the public in a
friendly, courteous, and professional manner: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate honors John Williams upon his retirement from the Social Security Administration (SSA) in Anderson, Indiana where he was the Public Affairs Specialist for East-Central Indiana.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to John Williams.
