SENATE RESOLUTION
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION urging the Legislative Council
to assign the topic of the Adult Protective System to an
appropriate study committee.
Whereas the Adult Protective Services system is
increasingly faced with additional challenges in meeting the
needs of a growing population of the aged in Indiana;
Whereas the current system provides services on a multi- county basis and addresses issues with a criminal investigatory focus;
Whereas other states are looking upon such issues effecting seniors with a more holistic social services view; and
Whereas the issue of the adequacy of resources and the method of providing protective services to adults in Indiana is a crucial matter which effects the lives of many seniors and their families and therefore should be assigned to an appropriate existing interim committee for further study: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Legislative Council is urged to assign to an appropriate study committee the topic of the Adult Protective System.
