A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating Head Coach Brian
Kelly of the University of Notre Dame football team on being
named Coach of the Year.

MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating Head Coach
Brian Kelly of the University of Notre Dame football team on
being named Coach of the Year.
Whereas,
Head Coach Brian Kelly was recognized as
Coach of the Year in a season where he lead the University of
Notre Dame football team to an undefeated regular season and
a national championship game;
Whereas, In the 2012 season, Coach Kelly was named
Home Depot Coach of the Year, AP College Football coach of
the Year, Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year, and Sporting
News Coach of the Year;
Whereas, Coach Kelly was previously named Home Depot
Coach of the Year in 2009 for his efforts as coach for
Cincinnati, making him the first two-time winner of that Award;
Whereas, The Fighting Irish have won at least eight games
in each of the three seasons playing under Kelly's leadership;
and
Whereas, Coach Brian Kelly had a tremendous 2012
season, demonstrated by an undefeated regular season and
numerous awards and recognitions: Therefore,
SECTION 1. The Indiana Senate congratulates Coach Brian Kelly
on his outstanding 2012 season and for being named Coach of the Year
from numerous organizations.
SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to
transmit a copy of this Resolution to Coach Brian Kelly.
