SENATE RESOLUTION

     MADAM PRESIDENT:

    I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating the Concordia High School girls basketball team on their Division 3A State Championship.

    Whereas, The Fort Wayne Concordia High School girls basketball team clinched the state title over their No. 2-ranked opponent, the Mt. Vernon High School Marauders;

    Whereas, The game was fiercely competitive and evenly matched, but the Concordia Cadets managed to clinch victory with a score of 42-39;

    Whereas, Lauren Marinko, the Cadets' senior guard, scored 10 points in the last 94 seconds of the game, sinking two free-throws with only 9.1 seconds left on the clock;

    Whereas, Coach Dave Miller raved about the girls' "tremendous heart" and exhibited great pride in the impressive performance of his team; and

    Whereas, The Fort Wayne Concordia High School team worked hard all season and fought to the bitter end of the final game. Their dedication and teamwork paid off as they willed

their way to victory: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate congratulates the Concordia High School girls basketball team on winning the 3A state championship.
    SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Fort Wayne Concordia High School girls basketball team.
