An Act Establishing Commonwealth Affordability Standards.



                Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 20 of chapter 40B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following definition:-

“Affordability standards”, affordable housing is available and affordable for those earning no more than 50% of the average median income of the metropolitan statistical area in which the project is proposed.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
