An Act Relative to Falsely Assuming to be a Public Official.



                Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 33 of chapter 268 of the General Laws,  as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition,  is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 11 and 12, the words “ a fine of not more than four hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than one year”  and inserting in place thereof the following words:- a fine of not more than $5,000 or by imprisonment in a jail or house of correction for not more than 2 ˝ years or by both such fine and imprisonment.
