An Act relative to regulation of a corporation that lays, erects,
maintains, or repairs the gas lines or pipes in a municipality.
Be
it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court
assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 75 of chapter 164 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following 2 paragraphs:-
A corporation subject to this chapter shall inform the municipality of the location of all shutoff valves, to protect the health, safety, convenience and property of the inhabitants of the municipality, in the event of an emergency.
The corporation shall also inform the fire department in the municipality of the existence of any gas leak, when and where it occurred and the date on which it was repaired.
