The undersigned legislators and/or citizens respectfully petition for the passage of the accompanying bill:
Resolve establishing a special commission to examine chapter 40B, so called, and make recommendations.

Resolve establishing a special commission to examine chapter 40B, so called, and make recommendations. |
Resolved, that a special
commission, to consist of 7 members appointed by the governor, is hereby
established for the purpose of making an investigation and study relative to
devising a comprehensive plan for the restructuring of chapter 40B of the
General Laws to make it more responsive to the needs of the individual
communities of the commonwealth. Said commission shall consist of 1 municipal
official from a suburban community affected by chapter 40B, 1 municipal
official from an urban community, 1 representative from a non-profit housing
organization engaged in producing 40B housing, 1 representative from the real
estate and development community, 1 consultant to municipalities with
recognized expertise on the adverse impact of 40B developments, 1
representative from a citizens community organization formed to protest a 40B
project, and 1 member to be chosen at the discretion of the governor.
The commission shall conduct a review of current legislation, regulations
and their application in order to devise a comprehensive plan for the
restructuring of chapter 40B to make it more responsive to the needs of the
individual communities of the commonwealth.
Said commission shall report to the General Court the results of its study
and its recommendations together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry
its recommendations into effect by filing the same with the clerk of the house
of representatives on or before the last Wednesday in December, 2008.
