An Act AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF NORTON TO TRANSFER CERTAIN PARK LAND.



                Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

            SECTION 1. The town of Norton, acting by and through its board of selectmen, is hereby authorized to transfer from the town of Norton board of selectmen for park purposes to the town of Norton board of water and sewer commissioners for water supply purposes and also for the purpose of leasing a portion of the land located at 63 West Main Street and shown as Assessor Map 22, Map 85, said portion containing 66,615 + - square feet, shown as “Lot A” on a plan titled “Plan of Land on West Main Street in Norton, Massachusetts Prepared for Norton Water Department,” dated April 30, 2008, prepared by Yarworth Engineering Company, Inc.

Section 2: The transfer of land in section 1 is in exchange for a transfer by the town of Norton board of water and sewer commissioners of land held for water supply purposes to the town of Norton board of selectmen for park purposes, said land being located at 0 Rear Cottage Street, Norton, shown as Assessor Map 21, Lot 106, containing approximately 4.5 acres, and the transfer by said board of water and sewer commissioners to the board of selectmen of associated portions of three abutting parcels necessary for access thereto. The transfer and exchange of parcels at issue in sections 1 and 2 of this act are as voted under Article 11 of the town of Norton October 6, 2008 Fall Annual Town Meeting.

Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon passage.
