An Act relative to civil citation.
Be
it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court
assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 269 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following section:-
Section 20. Fines levied for civil violations shall be paid within 30 days of receipt of a civil citation. Any person who is cited 3 times in the same calendar year for the same civil violation and fails to pay the civil fine within 30 days of receipt of the third civil citation shall have committed a misdemeanor and shall be subject to a fine of not more than $1000 or sentenced to no more than 6 months in a house of correction or both. Civil violations consisting of parking tickets or dog violations shall be inapplicable to this section. SECTION 1.
