An Act to Expedite Insurance Coverage for New Employees of the
Commonwealth .
Be
it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court
assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 32A of the General is hereby amended by adding the following section:-
Section 24. Notwithstanding any other general or special law or rule or regulation to the contrary, new employees who are eligible for coverage and employees newly-eligible for coverage shall, upon enrollment in a health insurance plan offered by the commission, be immediately eligible for the benefits of such coverage. The commission shall not make any rules or regulations or otherwise require a waiting period for benefits coverage.
