An Act relative to the interception of wire and oral
communications.
Be
it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court
assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 272 § 99, is amended by adding the following new paragraph in subsection D. Exemptions:
e. for any natural person who is not acting on behalf of, or in, an official government position, and who is not a member of, or in any way associated with organized crime, to intercept and secretly tape record a wire communication or oral communication when the recording is done for the sole purpose of protecting one’s life, liberty, character, or property.
