An Act establishing a drug prevention pilot program in schools .



                Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

            SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any special or general law to the contrary, there is hereby established a pilot program for the purpose of providing substance abuse and addiction training to a teacher or a guidance counselor in each middle school and high school in Suffolk County.  Said teacher or said guidance counselor shall then conduct an initial screening, intervention and referral of those students who are identified as having substance abuse and/or addiction needs for a subsequent comprehensive assessment and appropriate treatment.
