A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled
"Michigan election law,"
(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 938a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 938a. Except as otherwise provided by the state
constitution of 1963, an individual is ineligible for election or
reelection to any public office of the government of this state or
of a political subdivision of this state if the individual has
outstanding fines that were imposed upon conviction of a criminal
offense in this state.
