A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled

"Michigan vehicle code,"

by amending section 810 (MCL 257.810), as amended by 2003 PA 152.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 810. (1) Except as otherwise provided in this act, all fees received and money collected under sections 801 to 809 shall be deposited in the state treasury and shall be credited to the Michigan transportation fund.must be returned by the secretary of state to each county in the proportion of vehicles currently registered in that county in relation to the number of vehicles currently registered in all counties in this state, as determined by the state treasurer.

(2) Money returned to a county under subsection (1) must be distributed to each local road agency that operates in that county based on the total number of lane miles of a highway, road, or street under the jurisdiction of the local road agency in that county.

(3) As used in this section:

(a) "Lane miles" means the number of miles of pavement going in 1 direction on a highway, road, or street, multiplied by the number of lanes.

(b) "Local road agency" means that term as defined in section 9a of 1951 PA 51, MCL 247.659a.

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into law.
