February 4, 2009, Introduced by Rep. Jackson and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

 

     A bill to amend 1939 PA 288, entitled

 

"Probate code of 1939,"

 

(MCL 710.21 to 712A.32) by adding section 18n to chapter XIIA.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

                             CHAPTER XIIA

 

     Sec. 18n. If a juvenile commits a crime that involves a

 

violent act or a threat of a violent act against another juvenile,

 

in addition to any other order of disposition that may be entered

 

under this chapter, the court may assess a fine of not more than

 

$1,000.00 against the juvenile or his or her parent, guardian, or

 

custodian and may order the juvenile and his or her parent,

 

guardian, or custodian to attend a minimum of 3 months of

 

counseling.
