A bill to amend 1976 PA 399, entitled
"Safe drinking water act,"
(MCL 325.1001 to 325.1023) by adding section 7b.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 7b. (1) In addition to the sampling and analysis of water
conducted under section 7, at least once every year, a supplier of
water that provides water to a college or university in this state
shall collect water samples from the college or university and have
those samples analyzed in the manner provided in section 7 for the
presence of lead and all other contaminants for which there is a
state drinking water standard. The results of that analysis shall
be provided to the department and to the college or university.
(2) As used in this section, "college or university" means all
of the following:
(a) A college or university described in section 4, 5, or 6 of
article VIII of the state constitution of 1963.
(b) A junior college or community college established pursuant
to section 7 of article VIII of the state constitution of 1963.
(c) An independent nonprofit degree-granting college or
university.
