A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled
"Michigan election law,"
by amending section 936 (MCL 168.936).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
936. Any person found guilty of perjury under the
provisions
of this act shall, unless herein otherwise provided, be
punished
by a fine not exceeding $1,000.00, or by imprisonment in
the
state prison for a term not exceeding 5 years, or by both such
fine
and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.Except as
otherwise provided, a person convicted of perjury under this act is
guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5
years or a fine of not more than $10,000.00, or both.
