     A bill to designate the monarch butterfly as the official

 

insect of the state of Michigan.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 1. The monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is designated

 

as this state's official state insect.

 

     Enacting section 1. This act takes effect 90 days after the

 

date it is enacted into law.
