HOUSE BILL No. 4856

September 9, 2015, Introduced by Rep. Gamrat and referred to the Committee on Education.

 

     A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled

 

"The revised school code,"

 

(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1278e.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 1278e. Beginning in the 2015-2016 school year, the board

 

of a school district or public school academy that operates a high

 

school shall ensure that, as part of the biology course required

 

under section 1278b, pupils in the course are provided with

 

ultrasound and positron emission tomography (PET) scan images

 

showing the development of an unborn child in the womb.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
