HOUSE BILL NO. 5189

A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

"Michigan election law,"

by amending section 502 (MCL 168.502), as amended by 2018 PA 125.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 502. (1) The Subject to subsection (2), the master file must at all times remain in the custody of the township or city clerk.

(2) Beginning on the effective date of the amendatory act that added this subsection, the clerk of a township or city is not required to keep a master file. However, if a township or city clerk does keep a master file, that township or city clerk must maintain and update the master file as provided in this act.
