A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled
"Michigan vehicle code,"
(MCL 257.1 to 257.923) by adding section 732d.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 732d. (1) In consultation with the department, the
department of health and human services, the unemployment insurance
agency, Michigan works agencies, and the department of corrections,
the department of treasury shall educate individuals whose driver
responsibility fee obligations are affected by changes made to
state law on the effective date of the amendatory act that added
this section. The education required by this subsection shall
include informational materials and effective outreach.
(2) For the fiscal year ending September 30, 2018, $160,000.00
is appropriated to the department of treasury to implement and
administer this section.
(3) For the fiscal year ending September 30, 2018,
$1,000,000.00 is appropriated to the department of state to
implement and administer an educational outreach program to provide
information regarding the requirements to reinstate an operator's
license under this act.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
