A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled
"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"
(MCL 324.101 to 324.90106) by adding section 8512c.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 8512c. (1) Beginning January 1, 2011, a person shall not
display for retail sale a turf fertilizer labeled as containing the
plant nutrient available phosphate (P2O5). A person that sells turf
fertilizer labeled as containing the plant nutrient available
phosphate at retail may post a sign advising customers that turf
fertilizer labeled as containing available phosphate is available
upon request for permitted uses. The sign shall advise customers in
easily legible type of the requirements of section 8512b(1) to (3).
(2) As used in this section, "turf fertilizer" means
fertilizer labeled for use on turf, lawns, or lawns and gardens.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take effect
unless Senate Bill No.____ or House Bill No.____ (request no.
00613'09 **) of the 95th Legislature is enacted into law.
