Sec. 201. Pursuant to section 30 of article IX of the state constitution of 1963, total state spending from state sources under part 1 for fiscal year 2019-2020 is $1,500,000.00 and state spending from state sources to be paid to local units of government for fiscal year 2019-2020 is $1,500,000.00.

Sec. 202. The appropriations authorized under this part and part 1 are subject to the management and budget act, 1984 PA 431, MCL 18.1101 to 18.1594.

 

DEPARTMENT OF STATE

Sec. 301. Funds appropriated in part 1 shall be distributed to cities, villages, and townships and shall be used to increase the pay of election inspectors or to hire new election inspectors to accommodate the increase in absentee ballots. Additional inspectors are necessary to ensure that votes on absentee ballots are tabulated in accordance with the intent of the voters.
