HOUSE BILL NO. 5474

October 21, 2021, Introduced by Rep. Meerman and referred to the Committee on Elections and Ethics.

A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

"Michigan election law,"

by amending section 807 (MCL 168.807).

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 807. (1) Immediately after the canvass has been completed, the result, stating the total number of votes received by each person individual voted for in said a precinct for any office and the number of votes for and the number of votes against any proposed constitutional amendment or other submitted proposition, shall must be made available to interested persons individuals who may be present.

(2) A city or township clerk shall not post on any website the unofficial results of a precinct in that city or township until all of the precinct ballot returns and absent voter ballot returns for that precinct are complete.

(3) A county clerk shall not post on any website the unofficial results of a city or township precinct located in that county until all of the precinct ballot returns and absent voter ballot returns for that city or township precinct are complete.
