A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled
"Revised judicature act of 1961,"
(MCL 600.101 to 600.9947) by adding section 1085.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 1085. In addition to any other terms and conditions set
by the DWI/sobriety court judge, in order to successfully complete
a DWI/sobriety court program, a program participant who is a
veteran must meet with a member of a veteran service organization
or a county veteran counselor to discuss available veterans benefit
programs for which the individual may qualify. As used in this
section:
(a) "DWI/sobriety court" means that term as defined in section
1084.
(b) "Veteran" means a veteran of the United States army, navy,
air force, marine corps, or coast guard, including their reserve
components, or the national guard or air national guard of this
state or of another state.
