A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 5137.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 5137. (1) A health facility or
health professional that receives a positive test result for coronavirus for an
individual shall ensure that additional testing for coronavirus is ordered for
the individual for both of the following time frames:
(a)
Twenty-one days after receiving the initial positive test result.
(b)
Forty-two days after receiving the initial positive test result.
(2) As used in this section:
(a) "Coronavirus" means severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
(b) "Health facility" means a health facility or agency as that term is defined in section 20106.
(c) "Health professional" means an individual who is licensed, registered, or otherwise authorized to engage in a health profession under article 15.
