HOUSE BILL No. 5805

     A bill to amend 1994 PA 39, entitled

 

"Veteran right to employment services act,"

 

(MCL 35.1091 to 35.1094) by adding section 3a.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 3a. (1) The workforce development agency shall establish

 

a workforce development program for veterans that trains veterans

 

for employment in advanced energy industries. The program

 

established under this section shall assist veterans both by using

 

their existing skills and by teaching new skills.

 

     (2) The department of military and veterans affairs shall

 

assist the workforce development agency to identify and communicate

 

with veterans who would benefit from the program described in

 

subsection (1).

 

     (3) As used in this section, "workforce development agency"

 

means the workforce development agency that was transferred to the

talent investment agency within the department of talent and

 

economic development under section IV of Executive Reorganization

 

Order No. 2014-12, MCL 125.1995.
