A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled
"The social welfare act,"
(MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 57v.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 57v. (1) The Michigan bridge card shall not be used for
any of the following purposes:
(a) To withdraw cash from an automated teller machine.
(b) To purchase tobacco products.
(c) To purchase beverages with alcoholic content or any other
item with alcoholic content.
(d) To purchase lottery tickets or tickets for games of
chance.
(2) The cash assistance benefits on the Michigan bridge card
may be used to obtain any or all of the following:
(a) Housing.
(b) Personal toiletries.
(c) Food.
(d) Clothing.
(e) Child care services.
