A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled
"The insurance code of 1956,"
(MCL 500.100 to 500.8302) by adding section 3009a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 3009a. (1) With respect to a motor vehicle registered or
principally garaged in this state, an insurer shall not deliver or
issue for delivery an automobile liability or motor vehicle
liability policy described in section 3009(1) that excludes or
limits coverage for property damage, bodily injury, or death
arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of a motor
vehicle suffered by the spouse of the insured or a relative, of
either the insured or spouse of the insured, who resides in the
same household as the insured.
(2) This section does not apply to an exclusion under section
3009(2).
