A bill to amend 1976 PA 399, entitled
"Safe drinking water act,"
by amending section 6 (MCL 325.1006).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
6. (1) The Except
as provided in subsection (2), the
maximum contaminant levels for inorganic and organic chemicals,
microbiological contaminants and turbidity, which are part of the
national
interim primary drinking water regulations, and which have
been
promulgated by the United States environmental protection
agency
Environmental Protection
Agency under authority of Public
Law
93-523 (1974), before this act taking effect, are hereby
incorporated
by reference and shall have the same force and effect
as
a rule promulgated pursuant to under
this act. A standard which
that
is incorporated by reference pursuant
to under this subsection
shall
remain remains effective until a rule is promulgated pursuant
to
under this act which that covers the same or
similar subject or
the
standard is rescinded by rule promulgated pursuant to under
this act.
(2) The maximum contaminant levels for certain inorganic
chemicals are as follows:
(a) For perfluorooctanesulfonic acid - 5 parts per trillion.
(b) For perfluorooctanoic acid – 5 parts per trillion.
