A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled

"Public health code,"

by amending section 2896 (MCL 333.2896).

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 2896. (1) The Subject to subsection (2), the department may promulgate rules necessary or appropriate to implement this part. The rules shall must include, at a minimum, procedures relating to filings; form and content of vital records; minimum documentation required for the issuance or amendment of certificates or permits; inspection or disclosure of records and sealed files; fees; and the disposition of reports and applications not actively pursued.

(2) The department shall not promulgate or enforce a rule under subsection (1) that allows a person to amend a death record unless that person certified that death record or completed the medical certification portion of that death record.
