     A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled

 

"Natural resources and environmental protection act,"

 

by amending section 43534 (MCL 324.43534), as amended by 1999 PA

 

233.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 43534. (1) The department shall designate a Saturday and

 

the following Sunday during January or February of each year as

 

free winter fishing days. In addition, the department may designate

 

1 other day or 2 other consecutive days each year as free fishing

 

days.

 

     (2) Memorial day, the fourth of July, and Labor day shall be

 

free fishing days in this state every year.

 

     (3) (2) During free fishing days, a resident or nonresident

 

may fish for all species of fish in waters of this state designated

 


by the department without purchasing a license or permit.

 

     (4) (3) A person An individual who fishes during a free

 

fishing day pursuant to under subsection (1) or (2) has the same

 

privileges and is subject to the same rules and regulations as the

 

holder of a limited 24-hour fishing license issued pursuant to

 

under section 43533.
