A bill to amend 2000 PA 92, entitled
"Food law,"
by amending section 6141 (MCL 289.6141).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 6141. (1) A food service establishment in which solid
foods
are sold and consumed on the premises shall prominently do
both of the following:
(a) Prominently display a poster in the kitchen area of the
food service establishment diagramming and explaining the
antichoking techniques safe for both adults and children approved
by the department for dislodging foreign obstacles caught in the
throat of a choking person.
(b) Have on its premises, when food is being served, an
employee trained in the antichoking techniques described in
subdivision (a).
(2) This section does not impose a duty upon the owners or
employees of a food service establishment to apply antichoking
techniques.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
