SENATE BILL NO. 993
A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled
"The insurance code of 1956,"
(MCL 500.100 to 500.8302) by adding section 3406kk.
the people of the state of michigan enact:
Sec. 3406kk. (1) Beginning January 1, 2026, an insurer that delivers, issues for delivery, or renews in this state a health insurance policy that provides coverage for immunization agents shall provide coverage for all of the following:
(a) A qualified immunizing agent listed on the Immunization Schedules of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that is administered by a pharmacist as provided in section 17724 of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.17724, at a pharmacy within the insurer's network.
(b) A qualified laboratory test ordered by a pharmacist as provided under section 17724a of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.17724a, at a pharmacy within the insurer's network.
(c) A drug dispensed by a pharmacist as provided under section 17724a of the public health code, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.17724a, at a pharmacy within the insurer's network.
(2) The coverage required under subsection (1) is subject to a health insurance policy's utilization management, prior authorization, or precertification requirements.
(3) An insurer described in subsection (1) may subject coverage required under subsection (1) to applicable cost-sharing, including deductible, co-insurance, or co-pay provisions of the insurer's health insurance policy.
