A bill to amend 1936 (Ex Sess) PA 1, entitled
"Michigan employment security act,"
(MCL 421.1 to 421.75) by adding section 62a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 62a. The unemployment agency shall make an annual report
to the legislature concerning unemployment benefit fraud cases. The
first report shall cover each of the 3 previous 12-month periods,
and subsequent reports shall cover the previous 12-month period.
Each report shall include all of the following information:
(a) The number of fraud determinations.
(b) The number of fraud determinations appealed.
(c) The number of fraud cases adjudicated and the outcome of
those adjudications.
(d) The total cost to the unemployment agency of the fraud
proceedings, including costs attributable to staff.
(e) The total proceeds attributed to fraud cases from
restitution, interest, and penalties.
Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days
after the date it is enacted into law.
