1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to environmental health; prohibiting the sale of certain products
1.3containing triclosan or similar antibacterial compounds; proposing coding for
1.4new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 116.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. [116.3801] CERTAIN ANTIBACTERIAL PRODUCTS.
1.7    Subdivision 1. Generally. No person shall offer for sale in Minnesota any personal
1.8care products, cosmetics, or cleaning products containing triclosan, triclocarban, or
1.9similar antibacterial compounds.
1.10    Subd. 2. Exceptions. This section does not prohibit the sale of products that are
1.11used solely in medical facilities.
1.12EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective January 1, 2014.
