1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 609.5316, subdivision 1, is amended to
1.7read:
1.8 Subdivision 1. Contraband. Except as otherwise provided in this subdivision, if the
1.9property is contraband, the property must be summarily forfeited and either destroyed or
1.10used by the appropriate agency for law enforcement purposes. Upon summary forfeiture,
1.11weapons used must be destroyed by the appropriate agency unless the agency decides to
1.12use the weapons for law enforcement purposes or sell the weapons to federally licensed
1.13firearms dealers, as defined in section 624.7161, subdivision 1.
