1.2relating to the State Lottery; prohibiting sale of lottery tickets at fuel pumps;
1.3amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 349A.13.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 349A.13, is amended to read:
1.6349A.13 RESTRICTIONS.
1.7Nothing in this chapter:
1.8(1) authorizes the director to conduct a lottery game or contest the winner or winners
1.9of which are determined by the result of a sporting event other than a horse race conducted
1.10under chapter 240;
1.11(2) authorizes the director to install or operate a lottery device operated by coin or
1.12currency which when operated determines the winner of a game;and
1.13(3) authorizes the director to sell pull-tabs as defined under section349.12,
1.14subdivision 32 .; and
1.15(4) authorizes the director to permit the sale of lottery tickets by retailers at a fuel
1.16pump or other petroleum-dispensing equipment, as regulated under section 239.751. A
1.17lottery retailer who operates petroleum-dispensing equipment must sell lottery tickets
1.18inside the store.
1.19EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
