1.2relating to capital investment; modifying an appropriation for the Mesabi Trail;
1.3amending Laws 2006, chapter 258, section 7, subdivision 23, as amended.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. Laws 2006, chapter 258, section 7, subdivision 23, as amended by Laws
1.62010, chapter 399, section 2, is amended to read:
1.8For matching grants under Minnesota
1.9Statutes, section85.019, subdivision 4c .
1.10$500,000 is for a grant to Carlton County
1.11to predesign, design, and construct a
1.12nonmotorized pedestrian trail connection
1.13to the Willard Munger State Trail from the
1.14city of Carlton through the city of Scanlon
1.15continuing to the city of Cloquet, along the
1.16St. Louis River in Carlton County.
1.17$260,000 is to provide the state match for the
1.18cost of the Soo Line Multiuse Recreational
1.19Bridge project over marked Trunk Highway
1.20169 in Mille Lacs County.
1.21$175,000 is for a grant to the city of Bowlus
1.22in Morrison County to design, construct,
2.1furnish, and equip a trailhead center at the
2.2head of the Soo Line Recreational Trail.
2.3$125,000 is for a grant to Morrison
2.4County to predesign, design, construct,
2.5furnish, and equip a park-and-ride lot and
2.6restroom building adjacent to the Soo Line
2.7Recreational Trail at U.S. Highway 10.
2.8$950,000 is for a grant to the St. Louis
2.9and Lake Counties Regional Railroad
2.10Authority for land acquisition, engineering,
2.11construction, furnishing, and equipping of
2.12a19-mile "Boundary Waters Connection"
2.13segment of the Mesabi Trail from
2.14Bearhead within Vermilion State Park
2.15to the International Wolf Center in Ely.
2.16This appropriation is contingent upon a
2.17matching contribution of$950,000 $550,000
2.18from other sources, public or private.
2.19Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes,
2.20section16A.642 , the bond authorization
2.21and appropriation of bond proceeds for this
2.22project are available until June 30, 2014.
