1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to health records; prohibiting denial of health care services to patients
1.3who assert health record rights provided by law; amending Minnesota Statutes
1.42012, section 144.292, subdivision 1.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.6    Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 144.292, subdivision 1, is amended to read:
1.7    Subdivision 1. Scope. Patients have the rights specified in this section regarding
1.8the treatment the patient receives and the patient's health record. A provider may not
1.9deny health care services to a patient who asserts the rights specified in this section, or
1.10sections 144.293 to 144.298, and may not require waiver of these rights as a condition of
1.11providing health care services to a patient.
