1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to state lands; authorizing private sale of certain tax-forfeited land.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

1.4    Section 1. PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND; ST. LOUIS COUNTY.
1.5(a) Notwithstanding the public sale provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, or
1.6other law to the contrary, St. Louis County shall sell the tax-forfeited land described in
1.7paragraph (c) to the city of Virginia.
1.8(b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the attorney general. The attorney
1.9general may make changes to the land description to correct errors and ensure accuracy.
1.10Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 282.04, subdivision 4, the county shall sell
1.11the land to the city of Virginia for less than the appraised value, not to exceed $30,000.
1.12(c) The land to be sold is located in St. Louis County and is described as:
1.13(1) a tract of land in the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter beginning at the
1.14southwest corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter and assuming the west
1.15line to bear North 00 degrees 02 minutes 12 seconds East; thence North 23 degrees 50
1.16minutes 20 seconds East along the westerly right-of-way line of the Duluth, Missabe and
1.17Iron Range Railway 688.42 feet to a point on a nontangential curve the center of said curve
1.18is North 81 degrees 56 minutes 34 seconds West radius of 742.02 feet; thence northerly
1.19along said curve concave to the West 352.05 feet radius 742.02 feet and a central angle
1.20of 27 degrees 11 minutes 02 seconds; thence North 70 degrees 52 minutes 24 seconds
1.21East 15 feet along a radial line of last described curve; thence northwesterly along a curve
1.22concentric with last described curve and concave to the southwest 57.86 feet radius 757.02
1.23feet and a central angle of 04 degrees 22 minutes 44 seconds; thence North 23 degrees
