1.2relating to capital investment; authorizing the sale of state bonds; appropriating
1.3money for the Potter Center for the Arts in the city of Chatfield.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. POTTER CENTER FOR THE ARTS, CHATFIELD.
1.6 Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $9,105,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.7fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to
1.8Independent School District No. 227, Chatfield, to predesign, design, renovate, construct,
1.9furnish, and equip the Potter Center for the Arts in the city of Chatfield. The center
1.10includes the Potter Memorial Auditorium, space for the Chatfield Brass Band Free Music
1.11Lending Library, gallery and museum space, a plaza, and a senior citizen and community
1.12space. The school district may enter into lease and management agreements with the city
1.13and other entities to provide the programs in the center, subject to Minnesota Statutes,
1.14section 16A.695.
1.15 Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in subdivision 1 from the
1.16bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue
1.17bonds of the state in an amount up to $9,105,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with
1.18the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the
1.19Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.20EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
